I've known Veronika for close to ten years now through professional wrestling, but we do share a bit of a bond through fitness as well! I knew she was competing in the Emerald Cup in Bellevue, Washington on the weekend of April 29, and I assumed she would be competing in Figure. Wrong! Veronika had made the jump to physique. Naturally, I asked why. She is more about the posing and the routine, and less about the glitz and glam. Can't argue that logic!
Now instead of hearing it from me, hear it straight from Veronika:
"Hey Friends! A bit of a read but wanted to post some pictures and a summary about my awesome experience that I wish I could repeat over and over again.
This past weekend I had a childhood dream come true, not the result I wanted but to be honest, I'd rather look the way I do than have a first place trophy...
I participated in the 2016 Emerald Cup in Bellevue, WA. and received the 4th place award in Physique B category, which is really the Canadian 1st place, wouldn't you agree?? I had an absolutely profound experience that I will never forget and from all of the competitions I've done in the past, this was the best by far. I've never looked or felt better and I got to do a really fun routine at the evening show which kinda took me back to my wrestling days where I got to perform in front of a crowd. The event was organized, everything ran smoothly, all competitors and crew were friendly and did anything to make sure the athletes were well taken care of.
My suit was a HIT thanks to Colleen Campbell. I've never received so many compliments in my life on how elegant and beautiful it looked.
An old friend became new again. I had the pleasure of spending the entire weekend with my trainer Shawn Tan #F***bombs #OMGletmetakeapic#STARBUCKS!!! #hermitsforlife
I do keep to myself for the most part, but of course thank you to everyone who sent positive messages and supported me throughout.
Most importantly, I got to eat at the Cheesecake Factory: 2 servings of free bread, 2 appetizers, mac n' cheese burger with yam fries, and a Reece's peanut butter cheesecake (tapped out half way through).... then woke up with abs."
Naturally, a post-show photoshoot had to happen! Veronika wanted to make sure her bike was featured, so we found a nice little secluded spot in VERY rural Maple Ridge, and did it up.
Our original vision was a sunset, as the weather forecast was calling for good weather. Not so much! The clouds rolled in hard, and we JUST missed a thunderstorm. But we stayed dry, and the clouds made for some DAMN dramatic photos!
