You’ve probably read enough blogs to know WHY you should get engagement photos! It’s good practice for your actual wedding day, you can use the photos for your save the date cards, you can get some killer artwork to compliment your wedding day photos, and so many other reasons! Here are five tips to help give you the BEST possible experience for your engagement session:
1) Location matters!
Come up with a cool spot and vibe that means something to you both. Are you into alpine hikes with crazy mountain vistas? Well let’s hit the trails and gain some altitude! Have a favorite destination that you love travelling to, for example, Las Vegas? Let’s go!! No idea is too crazy, so we’ll all put the effort in, and let’s make it as PERSONAL as possible! And you know what the other bonus of that is? You’re going to get photos that no one else is going to have!
2) How about an activity?
Building off of WHERE do you like to go, WHAT do you like to do? Hiking? Biking? Trail running? Music? Let’s build a shoot around that!
3) Hair and makeup
You want to look your best, so take the time to have your hair and makeup professionally done (unless you’re a rock star on your own, that is!) Ideally, you’ll use the same artist that’s going to be there on your wedding day. Gotta make sure you’re in love with what you’re going to see, right?
4) Make a day of it
Related to #3, as long as you’re all perfectly done up and looking 10/10, don’t stop after the engagement session is done. How about a date night with your fiancé! Show each other off!
The engagement shoot is meant to be a fun experience, although yes, you may have some awkward jitters at first. Totally normal, and we’ll laugh them off! No need to stress over anything, promise. J
Ok, one final tip, and probably the most important one.
6) HAVE FUN!! Laugh, enjoy the experience, and create an unforgettable memory for the two of you. Jump on in baby!
